WTF is going on?

Has anyone else here seen the same car posted by different people on FB? Not necessarily at the same time. Maybe the first account will post it one day, then someone else will post it a couple weeks later

It’s a scam.

I see this on OfferUp often and just avoid them. Or when I’m bored I message them e ssentially calling them out on their bs and then they delete all duplicate listings or retort back and then delete it lol

Do you find OfferUp worth it? I tried it briefly but the searching & filtering seemed woefully inadequate for any serious car hunts.

I’ve found a lot of time it’s someone using their significant other’s account

I like the ads where all the pictures of the car are taken at night at the gas station.

I always sort it by “newest first(most recently posted” and maybe a price filter and from that I’ve found many good listings with legit sellers willing to negotiate for a decent price. Granted, I haven’t bought anything yet because I’m simply too broke but the virtual aspect of it, when done right, seems to be good. As is with all online shopping you have to take precautions and avoid scams but that part aside and it's fine.
